My Everyday Makeup Must Haves

Farsali Unicorn Tears Serum– moisturises my skin and helps my base last all day.

Benefit Porefessional Primer– fills in my pores on my t-zone.

Erborian CC Cream- use this on days where I don’t need too much coverage and this cc cream turns into your skin tone.

L’Óreal True Match Foundation Mixed in with my EX1 Foundation– The best affordable combination, my L’Oreal foundation is a bit light for me so I mix in the EX1 foundation which is my summer shade and it works well together.

Urban Decay Concealer

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

I like these concealers for my under eyes and highlighting.

Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer – this concealer is used for covering up blemishes and pigmentation.

Fenty beauty Invisimatte Powder– Love this powder for setting mine under eyes and face.

Nyx bronzer – I finally found an affordable bronzer that suits my skin tone and the formula does not look powdery.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette- one of my favourite contour palettes as it has a variety of shades that suit my skin tone.

Iconic London Illuminator in the shade original– this product makes look so glowy and blends on top of powder really well.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray– this sets my entire face and it makes my makeup look like skin as it melts the powder into my skin.

Natasha Denona Velour Puff- I use this to pat in the setting spray as sometimes it clings onto the hair on my face.

The Importance of SPF

Since I have been using The Ordinary Skincare Range, I have been advised to always wear SPF.

How important is SPF?-

  1. Skin cancer rates are on the rise and sunscreen has been proven to decrease the development of skin cancer
  2. It helps to prevent facial brown spots and skin discolourations
  3. It also helps to reduce the appearance of facial red veins and blotchiness
  4. It slows down the development of wrinkles, prematurely ageing skin

How SPF has helped my skin-

  1. Reduced my discolouration
  2. Protects my skin from sun rays

Product I like-

Review- The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

Product Description –

Anything but ordinary, this peeling solution unites AHAs and BHAs to offer deep exfoliation and help battle blemishes for improved skin radiance. Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) exfoliate the skin’s topmost layer for a brighter, more even appearance, while beta hydroxyl acids (BHAs) exfoliate the skin more deeply to clear pore congestion – together, they radically improve the appearance of the skin’s texture and reduce the look of fine lines. Don’t be perturbed by the irritation often associated with acid use – The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution also features Tasmanian pepperberry to reduce inflammation, as well as a crosspolymer form of hyaluronic acid for comfort, Vitamin B5 to assist healing and black carrot as an antioxidant.

How to use –

Use ideally in the evening, no more frequently than twice per week. Clean face and wait for skin to dry. Do not use on wet skin. Apply evenly across face and neck using your fingertips. Leave on for no more than 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes both during application and rinse off. This low-viscosity solution is intended to be used as a masque. Do not leave on for longer than 10 minutes. If persistent irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician. (Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. Use only as directed. Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.)

My experience –

  • Use the product twice a week
  • Gives my skin a healthy glow
  • The product does tingle a bit but it is meant to
  • I have noticed that my texture is improving
  • I always use SPF the morning after to protect my skin

    How I use it-

    • I cleanse my face beforehand to get rid of the dirt and oil
    • I apply the solution with my fingertips
    • And leave it on for 10 minutes
    • Then rinse my skin with lukewarm water

    Results –

I’ve used for a month, and it has improved my texture. It gives my skin a glow.

I would recommend doing a patch test to see how your skin would react especially if you have sensitive skin.

      Facial at Home

      1. Cleanse

Before doing any face mask, always cleanse your skin. This will get rid of the dirt, oil and any makeup. I would recommend doing a double cleanse to really make sure that everything is gone. I would recommend the Pixi + Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse Solid Cleansing Oil + Cleansing Cream. When cleansing I massage my face with my knuckles, this stimulates the blood flow in my face.

      2. Exfoliate

After cleansing, exfoliate to rid if the dead skin cells on your face. I use the Garnier skin naturals pure active intensive anti-spot exfoliating scrub.

      3. Steam

I then steam my face using my facial steamer that I purchased from Amazon. Or you could boil water in your kettle and put in a bowl. Steam opens up your pores.

      4. Extractions

I would recommend leaving the extractions to professional facialists. But you could do a nose pore strip.

      5. Face Mask

Depending on how my skin is I will use these face masks and leave it on for 10-15 min.

Dry skin- Antipodes Manuka Honey Face Mask

Congested Skin- GlamGlow Super-Mud Face Mask or the L’Oreal Detox Face Mask

Blemishes- L’Oreal Blemish Rescue Face Mask

      6. Tone

A good toner will remove any remaining bits of oil, dirt and debris left behind by the cleanser. More importantly, the toner will help soothe, nourish and hydrate the skin while restoring its delicate pH balance. It can also close some of your pores from the steam.

      7. Eye Cream

This will moisturise your under eyes and help brighten your under eyes.

      8. Serum

Use a serum for your skin needs. I use the ordinary granactive retnoid 2% and the ordinary niacinamide 10% and zinc 1%.

      9. Moisturise

It’s important to moisturise as it gives your skin hydration.

I use the L’Óreal Hydra Genius and this is a gel moisturiser and it doesn’t clog my pores.

      Decluttering My Makeup #1

This post is about the products that I don’t reach for, doesn’t suit me and that has expired.

I usually sell my unwanted products on depop or on my Facebook marketplace.

      1. Tarte Maneater Palette

Not my favourite palette and I didn’t reach for it much.

      2. Beauty Bakerie Powder

It made me unusually light in flash photography, not white. And now I prefer pressed powders.

      3. Jeffree Star Highlighter

This highlight would put an emphasis on my texture and I prefer other highlights.

      4. Morphe Brushes 35F Eyeshadow palette

Some of the shades were not usable as an everyday shade. Also, the palette is big and hard to store.

      5. Cover Fx Matte Loose Powder

I like the powder and the shade, but loose powders are so messy and I prefer pressed powders now.

      6. Mascara’s- L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara, Maybelline Lash Sensational, L’Oreal False Lash Sculpt.

All of these mascaras have expired or I have finished it. I like all of these mascaras.

      Product Empties #2

      1. Antipodes Manuka Honey Face Mask

This face mask is the best for hydration and acne as the ingredients in this product fights against bacteria. I use this two times a week. I have re-purchased this.

      2. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

The best setting spray on the market, this is my second big bottle that I have been through. And I have been through one travel size bottle. I always use this when I’m done with my makeup. I have re-purchased this.

      3. L’Óreal Blemish Rescue Face Mask

I use this face mask twice a week when I feel like my skin feels congested and is breaking out. This mask is for unclogging pore and to help with blemishes. I have re-purchased this.

      4. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation

This is my favourite drugstore foundation and it suits my skin type and skin tone. It also lasts well on my skin. I have re-purchased this.

      5. L’Oreal Skin Expert Micellar Water Normal to Combination Skin

I do see my self re-purchasing this whenever I see this in stock. It helps my skin by taking off my eye makeup and excess dirt on my face.

      6. Pixi Glow Tonic Toner

I have re-purchased this and I like it for my skin. It also exfoliates my skin.

      7. L’Oreal Hydra Genius Liquid Care For Combination Skin

I have re-purchased this once and it really suits my skin type. A gel moisturiser is better for my skin types as it is not heavy and does not clog my pores.

Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation – First Impression

Not content with keeping our lips, lashes, lids and cheeks looking flawless, Huda Beauty has unveiled the secret to perfect skin: #FauxFilter Foundation. Offering a seamless, full-coverage matte finish that outlasts any others we’ve tried, this (frankly fabulous) formula will last through even the wildest of weather, workouts or emotional outbursts (though we hope it won’t have to). Water-resistant and practically budge-proof, this opaque base is blessed with a beautiful, petal-esque perfume and rich in skin-nourishing argan oil to respect your complexion as it instantly perfects. Packed with skin-unifying pigments to impart a gorgeous, demi-matte (but never flat) effect, a little of this goes a looooong way, so start with the tiniest bead bead and build up to achieve an HD-ready finish. The nemesis of blemishes, this effortlessly covers up a multitude of s(k)ins, from breakouts to scarring, dark spots and blackheads (it even disguises tattoos). Brilliant for bruises (it’s ideal if you’re braving bare legs), this guarantees a seamless finish that stays flawless all day long, especially when layered over Huda Beauty’s {Complexion Perfection} primer.

How it is meant to be used-

      • Use one pump
      • With the complexion perfection primer
      • The foundation brush

      How I applied the product-

      • I used the primer, which was like a thick moisturiser
      • I applied one pump and I also mixed in with my NYX olive foundation mixer as the foundation was a bit light. It didn’t change the formula.
      • I blended the foundation with a beauty blender

      First Impression –

      • It was full coverage, it even covered my pigmentation without colour correcting
      • It blended easily
      • I did set my whole face with powder so it lasts well throughout the day
      • My concealer blended in with the foundation
      • all of my other powders blended well, my contour, bronzer and highlight

      Throughout the day-

      • My t-zone did get oily, so I did blot
      • The foundation held up well throughout the day

Our 1st easy peel off lash tint with up to 3-day wear.

      For fuller natural looking brows.

      • I left the product on for 20 minutes
      • And peeled it off

      My first impression-

      • I thought the tattoo should have a thinner brush
      • I liked the shade for my eyebrows
      • For me, it was easy to apply
      • and it was easy to peel off
      • It did make brows look a bit fuller

I noticed my skin becoming a bit clearer

The blackheads are also going. I also do a nose pore strip and extractions with a tool from Tweezerman, which helps with blackheads and whiteheads.
