Skincare Products That I Am Using For Acne

Hi guys I have been dealing with acne for 4 years. I don’t have a major amount of acne. My problem areas are my nose, chin and cheeks. And I wanted to share what products have been helpful towards my acne.

These are the products that help me with my acne –

L’Oréal Detoxing Cleanser

this Cleanser I use Day and night. This helps with Detoxing the skin as it has charcoal. I have been using this for a few months.

Glamglow Super Mud Mask

This mud mask is amazing, this helps with drawing out all the spots. And it helps control my acne. I use this 2-3 times a week. This is expensive but there is an alternative product, which is the L’Oréal Detoxing Mask.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil help with drying out my acne, you only need the smallest amount. I use this on and off for a few months.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

This product helps with drying out the spots, I use a cotton bud to apply this on my face. I use this whenever I have spots on my face or if I feel them coming out.

Murad Blemish Clearing Solution

This is a new product, and it seems to help with my acne. I don’t have much to say about this yet.

First Impression- Tarte of the Rainforest of The Sea Foundation

From the Tarte website-

A lightweight, full coverage hydrating foundation infused with tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea™ complex and non-chemical SPF 15 sunscreen.

Product performance: Deliver the ultimate in hydration-boosting coverage with tarte’s 12-hour water foundation. The concentrated, full coverage fluid formula features 20 percent water to quench dry skin as it covers and masks any redness, dark spots and uneven skin tone, while softening the look of pores and fine lines. The custom dropper applicator delivers your perfect level of moisture-rich coverage in an array of shades to match any skin tone. Powered by tarte’s antioxidant-packed Rainforest of the Sea™ complex and non-chemical SPF 15 sunscreen, the hypoallergenic formula helps restore, brighten and defend skin from free radical damage and early signs of aging for a smooth, soft, radiant complexion.

First Impression

I applied this foundation in the morning, I applied two pumps and I used a flat foundation brush to dot this round my face.

And blended it out with the pro beauty blender sponge. At first I thought it was going to be cakey. But I was wrong.

This foundation blends out really well. And it does look full coverage. It covered my redness and acne scars.

This foundation blended well with my too faced concealer. And when I powdered my face, it did not look cakey.

When I contoured and bronzed it all blended out really nicely. And my highlight looked great with the foundation.

But, through out the day I noticed on my t-zone area, where I am oily, the foundation was breaking up.

My final thoughts- I would recommend this foundation for someone that has a dry or normal skin type.

I will continue to use this foundation. For me to use it, I would only have to use on my cheeks and use a matte foundation for my t-zone area. Or I can use a mattifying primer on my t- zone and then use the foundation. This foundation is great for everyday as it has spf.

Review- Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

There has been such a hype over these products. I completely agree with the hype. These eyeshadows come in 8 shades which cost £23 each. They are available on Cult Beauty.

For eyes with serious sparkle, this blindingly stunning shadow pigment combines pearlescent and glitter particles to guarantee an instant head-turning look. The water-infused texture is super easy to apply, thanks to the applicator wand and dries to a shimmering finish that never dulls. Yet it also cares for the skin with conditioning glycerin, while triethanolamine forms a protective barrier between the skin and the glittery pigment, so it always feels comfortable to wear. Choose from an array of gemstone hues, from the twinkling ebony ‘Molten Midnight’; show-stopping ‘Gold Goddess’ and beautiful bronze ‘Smouldering Satin’, to the shimmering silver ‘Diamond Dust’ and exquisite ‘Rose Gold Retro’. There’s a shade to suit every skin tone and occasion.

I have the shades, kitten karma, bronzed bell and molten midnight.

Pros-

Easy to apply

Blends nicely

Great colours for everyone

A nice pop of glitter on the eyes

Lasts all day, but don’t touch your eyes otherwise it will come off

Cons-

Availability, it is always sold out

Quite expensive

Can go on patchy sometime, but to fix that just shake the product so everything mixes in together

A pain to take off, there is glitter everywhere

Overall, it is a great product, and it is great for special occasions or everyday use.

My Current Favourites

I’ve decided not to do monthly Favourites as I don’t try that many new products each month.

Current Favourites

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

This foundation is a favourite, it gives a medium to full coverage and it looks like my skin. It’s also a good foundation to mix in with other foundations.

Nyx Warm Neutrals Palette

This sort of a dupe for the Violet Voss Holy Grail palette. This is an affordable alternative. This palette is very pigmented, its small and compact meaning it’s easy to pack when traveling.

Clinique Cleansing Balm

This takes of my makeup and dirt without a fail. The pot will last a long time.

L’Oréal Detoxing Cleanser

This cleanser exfoliates, and cleanses leaving my skin smooth. This is also affordable. This also has been improving my acne.

L’Oréal Serum

This helps with texture. This also leaves my skin super soft.

Cover fx Total Cover Cream Foundation in the shade G60

Although this shade is a bit light I make work by bronzing a bit more than I usually would.

This foundation gives a full coverage look and it’s not cakey. This covers my acne scars. This is a good everyday foundation as it has spf.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

This is a great Concealer but it can be too matte for under my eyes. This Concealer is full coverage. To make this work I mix it in with my Too Faced Concealer.

Too Faced Born This Way Concealer

This Concealer provides hydration and helps with fine lines. Also the shade selection is amazing.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette

This palette is so versatile it can suit anyone from a fair skin tone a deep skin tone. Also this blends out really well.

Ofra Blissful Highlight

This highlight is blinding. In my opinion ofra has the best Highlights on the market. This shade is a pinky golden shade.

Tarte Amazonian clay 12hr highlight in Stunner

The formula of this product is amazing. Where as some highlights are very glittery, but this one gives a glow without looking glittery.

Glamglow Mud Mask

This mud mask is great for acne. It’s expensive but it does the job really well. It is also great for leaving it on the pimple.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder

This powder gives a airbrush finish and it doesn’t look powdery. It looks great underneath the eyes.

Also I’ve been loving the TV show Riverdale on Netflix

First Impression- Makeup Forever Ultra HD Stick

What the foundation claims: ‘Ultra HD’ invisible cover stick foundation creates a flawless complexion on camera, and to the naked eye. Developed specifically for the film and TV industry’s most advanced technology, it is completely invisible under the latest, super focused 4k lens. The revolutionary foundation contains amino acid coated pigments that provide medium to full coverage with a lightweight, second skin texture that looks just like skin. It leaves a natural looking, radiant finish, and it s formulated with hyaluronic spheres for time released hydration that is perfect for normal to dry skin. Ideal for foundation touch ups and contouring, it can be applied at home or on the go for a flawless complexion.

First Impression-

I tested this foundation all day.

I applied two stripes on both of my cheeks and a stripe on my forehead and chin. I blended out the foundation with my Sigma kabuki brush.

This foundation does offer a medium to full coverage which is buildable. Although my skin is combination, looks great on my cheeks, not on my t-zone.

To make this work for me, I will only apply this foundation on my cheeks and on my t-zone apply a matte foundation.

This foundation did last a good several hours. I wouldn’t recommend this foundation for touch ups.

But next time, I think distributing the product onto a buffing Brush would look better and give more coverage.

Top 5 Foundations #2

Hi, guys this post is an update on my top five foundations. Next to each foundation is my shade.

My skin type is combination.

My skin tone tan.

These are the foundations that work for me during each season of the year.

1. Ex1 inviswear foundation – F300

This is still a favourite, this foundation gives a medium to full coverage. This foundation is not heavy. This best thing about this foundation is that this foundation is targeted for olive skin tones. And this is £12.50 which is amazing.

The best way to apply is to take one pump and dot it all over my face and blend it with my beauty blender.

2. Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation – Y435

This foundation is amazing if you want something to last all day. It also looks amazing in photography. This gives a medium to full coverage.

The best way to apply is to take one pump and dot it all over my face and blend it with my beauty blender.

3. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless -330

This is one of the best foundations at the drugstore. It does say matte but it does not look dry on my skin. This is also affordable, it’s £5.99. They also brought out more shades that cater to medium, tan and deep skin tones.

I have foundation that comes in a tube, I start off by squeezing out a little bit and dotting it all over my face and blend it with my beauty blender.

This is available at Superdrug.

4. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in the shade 9

This foundation is amazing, this a medium Coverage but it looks like my skin. It’s expensive but so worth it, it’s also great for mixing in other foundations.

The best way to apply is to take one pump and dot it all over my face and blend it with my beauty blender.

5. Nars Sheer Glow -Tahoe

I love this for the winter, when my skin is really dry. This foundation offers a medium to full coverage. Nars also offers a great range of shades.

The best way to apply is to take one pump and dot it all over my face and blend it with my beauty blender.

Hits and Misses – Foundation

This blog post, I will be sharing what Foundations that works for me and foundations that don’t work for me.

1. Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation- 7.75 and 8.75:

This is a hit and a miss, it’s full coverage but too matte. To make this work I mix in my farsali oil drops. This does last a good amount of time.

2. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless shade: 320 and 330

This is a hit, this provides medium to full coverage with a semi matte finish. This also an affordable foundation at £5.99.

3. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

This is a hit, it actually looks like my skin. Even though it’s expensive it’s an amazing product. This foundation can build-able to a full coverage.

4. Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation

This foundation was a miss for me. This foundation would break up wherever I would get oily. It didn’t apply full coverage like it claims to do so.

5. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

This is a hit for me, it makes my skin look great while being full coverage. But it does settle into my smile lines.

6. L’Oréal Infallible Matte Foundation

This foundation is a miss, this is too Matte, it exaggerates my dryness and looks cakey.

This foundation would be perfect for someone who has oily skin.

7. Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation

This foundation is a hit, this provides a full coverage and a Satin finish. This foundation does not look cakey even when I put on a lot.

8. Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

This foundation is a miss, it makes my skin look very glittery and very dewy. It makes my skin look greasy.
