Review- Iconic London Cream Contour Kit

I have been seeing Iconic London all over Instagram in recent months and the Iconic London Cream Contour Lit had really caught my attention.

This product is a cream contour kit that provides various shades to highlight and contour.

The pros:

The product is super blendable

There is a variety of shades for different skins tones

The clear plastic sheet suggests what each shade is used for

It makes my contour look very natural
The cons:

The price point, it, costs £32.99

The shipping could take up to a week or two weeks

You have to pay for shipping

Overall, it is one of the best cream contour kits on the market and I definitely recommend it.

First Impression- Jeffree Star Cosmetics

Who is Jeffree Star?

I’ve been following Jeffree Star on Instagram for a while now, and if you haven’t heard of him, he’s a self made makeup artist, musician, singer, model, fashion designer. As soon as I Beauty Bay was going to stock his cosmetics line. I quickly got my hands on some products before they went out of stock.

The Skin Frost Highlight
I got the shade King Tut. Which is a gold shade.

The pan holds a whopping 15 grams of product. Let’s compare the size and price to the other biggest highlighters out there right now.

Becca’s Champagne Pop is £32 for 8 grams

Mac Cosmetics Soft and Gentle is £24 for 10 grams

This highlight is so pigmented, you only need the smallest amount. The highlight is very creamy and pigmented.

Velour Liquid Lipstick

I got the shades Androgyny and Posh Spice.

The product is lightweight and long lasting.

But they seem to cling on to my dry skin on my lips.

Velour Lipstick

I got the shade Celebrity Skin. This lipstick is creamy and very moisturising.

Swatches Left to Right:

King Tut, Celebrity Skin, Posh Spice and Androgyny.

Review On The Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation

Matte + Poreless is a beauty bargain for normal to oily or combination skin. The thin liquid formula spreads seamlessly across skin with a weightless feel. The balanced matte finish isn’t overly drying and does a decent job of keeping oily shine at bay (at least for a few hours), adding up to another winning foundation from Maybelline.

Balanced matte finish ideal for normal to oily or combination skin.

Natural looking light to medium coverage.

Several skin-flattering tones to choose from for light to deep skin tones.

Blurs over pores instead of settling into them.

Love the packaging as it is in a tube, so you can squeeze out the product

A bargain- £7.99

The availability of the product in store

The availability of shades in store

The other type of packaging where I have to pour it out, is a huge con as it leads me to waste product

Top 5 Concealers

1. Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer gives you buildable, even coverage with a luminous, demi-matte finish. Ultra lightweight, this high-tech formula melds like a second skin effect and gives you full coverage in an instant. There is a range of shades to choose from.

To Blend Out The Product: I would use the wand to apply the concealer and to blend it out I use a Black Beauty Blender, the pointy end of the sponge, and tap into my skin.

My shade is Medium Dark Neutral

2. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

A very full coverage concealer, that doesn’t crease. You only need the smallest amount of product. But the problem with buying this product, is that it difficult to get a hold of in the UK.

To Blend Out The Product: I would use the wand applicator to apply the product and use a beauty sponge to blend out the product.

My Shade is Tan

3. Too Faced Born This Way Concealer

Instantly hides imperfections, vanish the appearance of dark circles and blurs fine lines and wrinkles. There is many shades to choose from.

To Blend Out The Product: I would use the wand applicator and blend out the product with a beauty sponge.

My Shade is Tan

4. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

This concealer offers a medium to full coverage look. In store there are only 3 shades at the most. And most of the shades are out of stock but it’s a good price £5.99.

To Blend Out The Product: I use the wand to apply the product and use a beauty sponge to blend out the product.

My Shade is 35

5. Mac Cosmetics Pro Long Wear Concealer

This concealer offers a full coverage look that covers up dark circles. There are many shades to choose from but if you don’t know your shade I would recommend going to your local Mac Cosmetics store. But there is one thing that I don’t like about the product and that is the packaging, I have to pump the product out. When it come to half way of used up product the pump doesn’t work as well.

To Blend Out The Product: I pump out half a pump and dot it under my eyes and blend it out with a beauty sponge.

My Shade is NW35

The Ride or Die Tag

This blog post is inspired by the YouTuber Jaclyn Hill. This is basically saying what you’re one and only favourite product from each category is and why is it your favourite, for example foundation, concealer, eyeshadow palette and eyeliner.

I will start with Primer, and that is the Benefit Porefessional Primer: This primer works best for me as it  fills in pores and it makes my foundation last longer.

Foundation: Ex1 Cosmetics in F400: This is my favourite foundation because it is made specifically for olive skin tones and it gives me a full coverage look without it making me look cakey. Also  the price is amazing it’s 12.50.

Concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: This concealer works for as it has a range of shades, it makes my under-eyes look hydrated and it conceals my dark circles.

Powder: Mac Mineralize Skin Finish:This is my favourite powder because it does not make my skin look dry and it gives my skin a healthy glow.

Loose Powder: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder: This powder is finely milled meaning, when I set my under-eyes is does not look dry or cakey.

Contour: Makeup Geek Contour Powder in Half-Hearted: Is the perfect contour shade for my skin tone, as it does not look muddy on me. Also it blends really well.

Highlight: Becca Highlight in Opal: This highlight gives me a nice glowy look without being too over-powering. It also doesn’t look like glitter on my face.

Blush: Ex1 Cosmetics Blush in Natural Flush: This gives me a natural look and the product blends really well.

Eyeshadow Base: NYX eyeshadow base: this gives me an even skin tone on my eyelids and eyeshadows blend really well on top of it.

Eyeshadow Palette: My Z Palette with my Makeup Geek Eyeshadows: I put this palette together by purchasing different Makeup Geek eyeshadows. My palette contains, brown, red, nude shades. I bought the the eyeshadows individually and created a palette that I like.

Eyeliner: Maybelline Matte Liquid Black Eyeliner: This has the perfect applicator to create a wing. Also I don’t like the like glossy look of black eyeliner, so a matte eyeliner is perfect for me.

Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational: This is by far my favourite mascara that I’ve tried a few but they make my eyelashes look clumpy. This product gives my eyelashes a fluttery look which I love.

Eyebrow Pencil: ABH Brow Definer in Ebony: This brand gives me the perfect brown tone for my eyebrows and the definer lets me fill in my eyebrows quickly.

Eyebrow Gel: L’Oreal Brow Stylist in Medium/Dark: This sets my brow hairs all day, it’s like super glue.

Lip liner: Kylie Cosmetics Brown Sugar Lip liner: I apply the lip liner before applying the liquid lipstick, I do this so that the liquid lipstick lasts longer on my lips.

Liquid Lipstick: Kylie Cosmetics Brown Sugar: The formula of this is hydrating and it does not dry out my lips. The colour of the liquid lipstick is perfect for my skin tone.

Lipstick: Mac Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Stone: This is the perfect cool tone lipstick for my skin tone and the formula does not dry out my lips.

Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: This setting spray is my favourite because, it locks my makeup in place all day.

Perfume: Calvin Klein Forbidden Euphoria: This has been my favourite perfume for years, it has such a unique scent.

Is It Worth It? Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation

The Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation is a new foundation from Urban Decay. The foundation claims to be full coverage, matte, oil free and long wearing. And all of these criteria’s are true.

The packaging is a sleek gun metal packaging. It has a pump which makes you use the right amount of product. The product contains 30ml. The only thing bad about the packaging is that finger prints get all over the packaging.

Formula wise, the foundation has a thick liquid consistency. When using the foundation, I recommend only using one pump of the product. To blend out the product, I would recommend blending out the product by using a damp beauty blender or beauty sponge.

However, if you have dry skin this foundation is not for you. It will emphasis the dryness on your face.

When I wear the foundation, the product works well for the my skin type, which is combination meaning I have both oily and dry skin.

This foundation oxidises meaning once the foundation is on it goes slightly darker. So I would recommend a shade lighter or the right shade, I would go to the shop and test the foundation and see what shade works for me.

The lasting power of this foundation is not the best, sometimes it settles into my smile lines and it emphasised the texture on my chin and cheek, where I have acne.

The best primer that works best for me is the Benefit Porefessional primer.

To be honest I will finish this foundation but I probably will not re-purchase it. This foundation is for really oily skin. The foundation costs £27.
